Hunting Kansas Wild Turkey. We have as dense a population to hunt, as anywhere I know, with over 3000 birds within a 20-mile radius of town. We offer some of the best hunting for this wiley bird. We had the best year to date in 2010 harvesting 85 birds!!!
Wild turkeys were reintroduced into Kansas in the 1960s, and the program has been a great success. Today, huntable populations of turkeys exist in nearly every county. The Rio Grande subspecies dominates the western two-thirds of the state. Low numbers in the southwest provide only limited hunting. Hybrid Rio Grande/Eastern birds are found in the northcentral region. The Eastern subspecies is common in the northeast and far southeast regions, where numbers have grown tremendously in recent years.
Kansas Turkey Hunting Regulations
We promote youth hunters, as there is no thrill greater than a youth harvesting their first Turkey or Whitetail deer. We do this by offering special rates for youths. We also have hosted the Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors youth program annualy since 2002 by having the kids up during the youth turkey season and in 2007 our first whitetail deer hunt.
We offer lodging in 3 different buildings, including a rustic 2-story limestone building built in 1900. We can accomodate 20 anxious hunters. You will be well fed and rested for the next day's hunt.
You can choose from our basic hunt plans or we can accommodate hunters with special needs or customize a hunt to your specifications.
After you bag your Kansas Whitetail deer, we have available meat processing and taxidermy all in house! With Bell Wildlife Specialties there are no worries.
